Welcome to Going Beyond Nutrition.
My name is Diane Trumble and I am a passionate alternative holistic practitioner and nutritionist who has spent many years focusing on helping individuals find their own unique way to heal.
Life has taught me many lessons and has revealed unexpected passions and pleasures…food being one of the major ones. Learning about Nature… Her abundance and blessings providing us with energy and natural solutions to heal …is definitely another.
I do call myself a “foodie” and on a personal level, most of my closest friends, over the years, have identified me with the type of cooking that goes beyond the everyday… bringing surprises, some adventure and happy conversation while spending time together. Cooking became one of my creative outlets. It was my palette to work from and my thoughts while cooking were always about how to connect the food with my guests…what I knew they liked and would bring smiles. It was my way of nourishing from the soul. It represented more than just the physical ‘food’ I prepared…it was a way to nurture and express love to those I cared most about in my life.
It was my way of nourishing from the soul.
My relationship with and love for food started at a very early age. I was told I was a ‘good eater’ from the get go. Growing up, food represented “happiness” and most of all “love”. In fact, food was one of my closest friends when I was a child….in particular ‘sugar’. Although I had a brother and a sister, they were much older, and I was raised like an only child. My mother wanted to make my life ‘sweeter’ so she provided me with candy as an early accessible ‘companion’. There was a time when ‘sweeter’ became ‘heavier’ and I wasn’t so happy with that ‘companion’.
There was a time when sweeter became ‘heavier’ and I wasn’t so happy with that companion.
At the age of twelve I was fortunate enough to learn that the food I was attracted to, represented more than a physical substance that brought pleasure…it also reflected my feelings and contributed to my fluctuating emotions. My grandmother, Marie, helped me discover this. Even though we made lots of cookies together with lots of sugar, the laughter and love she shared with me while cooking imprinted wonderful feelings forever. She had become my companion.
Marie also listened when I told her I was unhappy with my body and cared enough to help me find a solution through substituting healthy whole foods for the empty calories of sugar. While she did help me to follow a diet, she also shared her wisdom about eating and was there to nourish me with her support, caring and guidance. The weight came off… joy and happiness emerged from a new appreciation of what foods represented and the eating of healthy whole foods provided. This taught me about being mindful, not only of what I ate, but also how my emotions and belief patterns could affect what choices I made. I went from being a hyper child to a calm and more focused individual. My immune system got stronger and I became one of the top students in school.
This taught me about being mindful, not only of what I ate, but also how my emotions and belief patterns could affect what choices I made.
Helping individuals find their solutions to heal has always been a desire of mine. I wanted to share my discoveries about the healing properties of the whole nutritious foods I had learned about at an early age. This led me in the direction of becoming a registered, holistic nutritionist, and into opening my own nutrition business, Full Circle Nutrition in 2003. I have been a holistic nutritionist for over 13 years as well as a GAPS Practitioner for the past 5 years.
Over the years I have learned a great deal about the special properties of real, whole foods and special dietary protocols that can help individuals flourish and heal. While I was pleased to pass this information on to my clients and help guide them along the way, it became obvious, after a while, to me, that in order to move forward and make successful and permanent changes to their health, they needed to ‘in fact’ Go Beyond Nutrition …to look beyond the nutritional models and daily fitness programs.
… in order to move forward and make successful and permanent changes to their health, they needed to in fact Go Beyond Nutrition.
Fitting these models and programs into an already stressful lifestyle only added more stress and depleted an already existing low amount of energy. Life patterns easily returned and dietary strategies started to be put off to another day; the goals were gradually lost and the perfect dietary protocol was considered a failure.
The truth is, just following a special diet without making any other changes in daily routine and lifestyle, just provides a smoke screen and doesn’t look at the real reasons why the problem came about in the first place.
So what is missing? What is the solution to following dozens of dietary protocols and fitness regimens and still ending back at ‘Square One’? It’s not just about following special diets, changing the foods we eat and/or staying on a daily work-out schedule…it’s about changing life’s patterns. It’s about understanding there needs to be a relationship with the food. Food needs to take a front-row seat. Without the nourishment food provides, we don’t survive. Interestingly, to survive we need to stop, breathe, relax and enjoy eating before we can be truly nourished. Fitting food in ‘on the run’ doesn’t work…the body speaks!
In order to have a relationship with food, it’s critical to slow-down. Slowing down enables you to be mindful of the foods you choose, prepare and share. Gratitude, Mindfulness and Consciousness, while choosing, preparing, sharing and eating food, facilitates the relaxation response and amazingly encourages digestion and assimilation. Healing Nourishment cannot happen without relaxation no matter what diet or fitness program someone is on.
…it’s about changing life’s patterns.
At Going Beyond Nutrition I help you find ways to truly nurture and nourish yourself and your family, whether on a special diet or in the case where you just want a solution that helps revitalize and regenerate you. I help you identify not only what the body needs, but also help you find ways to incorporate mind and spirit components that can address the source of your health issues. I provide you with strategies that enable you to return home to the kitchen. You will discover how Home-Style Cooking or Cooking from Scratch can be fun and creative. Through practicing Conscious Cookery you will discover even the simplest recipes can provide healing energy when awareness and gratitude is experienced while selecting, preparing and sharing your creations. Equally important to the style of cooking and the quality of the foods you choose to cook, is learning methods that help you slow down. Discover about daily practices that can help you make the gradual changes that facilitate slowing down. Once you begin slowing down you take healing to the next level…the body begins to digest, assimilate and on its way to being truly nourished.
I help you identify not only what the body needs, but also help you find ways to incorporate mind and spirit components that can address the source of your health issues.
Emotions and food are inseparable. At Going Beyond Nutrition I provide tools that can help you permanently move forward and tune in to what patterns, what thoughts, feelings, emotions and intentions repeat which could be contributing to keeping you in the same place with the same concerns and health issues. It’s important to remember…food is energy and the thoughts and emotions we have about food can profoundly affect the energy that food provides us. It’s not about what the healthy foods are as much as it’s about what living healthy means.
I’m here to take your life beyond nutrition.
